Golos, Tireless Pilgrim has been a much-discussed card that is both popular to play with and unpopular to play against. There are many problems with the card, but the greatest is that in the low-to-middle tiers where we focus the banlist, Golos is simply a better choice of leader for all but the most commander-centric decks. Its presence crushes the kind of diversity in commander choice which we want to promote. You can drop in Golos and a few 5-color lands into a random deck and get all the ramp and card advantage you would ever want from a commander, with no worries about your mana base. Golos’ ability effectively reduces the commander tax to one and once you hit seven mana (with Golos assuring that you have WUBRG and helping you get there quickly), you don’t need to do anything for the rest of the game except cast spells for free—something we always want to be careful about.
Also of some concern are generically-good commanders, like Golos, Tireless Pilgrim; Korvold, Fae-Cursed King; and Chulane, Teller of Tales, among others. We prefer commanders that can lead in interesting directions instead of hitting every point on the compass.
We’re comfortable where the format is at the moment, especially given that it hasn’t been a full quarter since our last update. As we get back fully into in-person play, we’ll see how or if the landscape changes. We’ll also see if the significant uptick in cards which make Treasures will bring any deeper consideration regarding Dockside Extortionist.

From multiple people:
As I mention, we’ll talk about Tergrid in the upcoming meeting in January for the February update. What would tip Tergrid over would be us seeing the same movement as we did with Hullbreacher: more players in “normal” games not being able to resist the urge to play the card. I don’t think we’re there yet and I don’t think we’ve moved back to enough in-person play to make a decent judgment.
